To meditate or not?

Bob and Mili have been delving into the world of meditation recently. The kind of delving that begins with thoughts, then discussions, followed by some talking about it.... leading to wonderings.

The latest discussion was regarding a 10 day vipassana meditation course conducted entirely in silence. Bob has several friends who have done this and told him of the wonders of meditation, the calm serenity that washed over them, the beautiful surroundings and incredible gifts that meditation has given them.

Bob wonders....if I discuss meditation enough, will I eventually get the benefits - or do I actually have to do it?

Mili wonders....what if the meditation centre was so silent that everyone could hear me going to the toilet?

Not for the faint hearted...

Mili is happy because Bob can only play Russian Roulette with the trees now (see 'Bob finds a new game' for Russian Roulette rules).

Bob is happy because he can walk on the carpet in bare feet.

Mili is not happy because she doesn't like Bob picking his toenails near the sofa. Bob isn't happy because he says he wasn't picking his toenails, he was flicking them, which made Mili feel sick she said.

Bob wonders...how in love must you be before picking toenails becomes ok?

Hurrah for non-smelly non-mouldy apartments!

Bob and Mili are over the moon with their new apartment and all filled up with gratitude and sunnyness. They didn't take the lead apartment or the smokey apartment. Instead they wrote a list of things they wanted - light, ability to breathe, clean walls, a carpet you can step on without needing to take a bath and trees nearby so that Bob can panda to his tree fetish. After that they waited for the apartment to come and sure enough, there it was... toytown, nestled in a sunny corner of south west Portland.

All this loveliness has made Bob and Mili quite creative. Mili wrote a poem about two birds, sitting, happy with their life...just as it is... with no worries.

Bob wrote a poem about Mili's bum fluff.

Mili wonders...Am I with the right person?

Bob and Mili go apartment hunting

Bob has been looking for new apartments. The interesting smells in this one do not seem to be abating, the mould on the walls has been diagnosed as chemical leaching and Mili is still unable to bring herself to put things on the floor for fear of contamination.
Bob searched long and hard and went to see ... ooh upwards of 6 or 7 apartments.

Bob wonders....
Should they go for the one that comes with a lead warning or the one that smells of smoke?

Mili wonders...
Which one will prevent Bob from playing Russian Roulette at the window?

Bob finds a new game!!

Russian Roulette. With a difference. It goes like this:

Naked Bob goes to the one window in the apartment. This window looks straight out onto the street and has the blind down. Next, Bob readys himself, takes a deep breath and at the moment that feels right, lifts the blind up for a second or two, then lowers it again.

It may not be a matter of life or death for Bob, but for the people that might happen to be walking past at that moment, depending on their sensibilities, it could be.

Bob is delighted with this game. Mili is not.

Mili wonders... how long will it last?

Mili's gig

Mili and her band had their first gig!

Bob was extremely impressed - they are actually very good! Even when the speaker wasn't turned on and the guitarist knocked a glass of water all over the electrics, they still sounded great!
In fact, Bob says, they are good enough to use two exclamation marks!!

Bob wonders....
When Mili and her band become famous - will Mili still play Planet Earth with him?

Bob and Mili play a game

Bob and Mili have a new planet earth game they were given as a present. Bob is VERY excited about said game as it has a board, a jigsaw, coloured counters and a dvd with questions on. Mili is amused that Bob is behaving like a little kid and is tolerating it well, though she doesn't play the game quite as often as Bob would like (twice a day).

Bob is excited because he says if everyone knew more about planet earth and the wonderful creatures living here then they may not want to destroy it quite as much as they are. He wonders how much impact he as an individual has on the earth as a whole? He wonders if the humpback whale would love him as much as he loves it?

Mili wonders if the laundry is done yet.

Mili gets annoyed...

Mili got very cross today. The source of Mili's peevishness lies squarely with Bob, who, according to Mili absolutely completely definitely must NOT break wind right into the sofa. For those who were previously unaware, doing this will pollute the receiving sofa indefintely. It is very important, Mili says, to lift one's leg so as to avoid any direct contact.

Bob is secretly pleased at his new directive from Mili. It is after all, much more fun.

Bob wonders...

Today Bob and Mili had a visitor. Except Mili was out so really it was just Bob receiving the visit. Bob, who can sometimes be generous, let his visitor stay over and even gave up his bed so that the tired visitor, who is a mother and therefore of high status in society, could have a whole night's sleep in a comfortable bed without any waking up of any kind.

Bob slept on the sofa taking great care not to let the cover touch the smelly floor. In the morning, he found a squashed creature on the floor and wondered whether an unthoughtfully placed shoe had caused it's demise - or maybe it was the fumes from the carpet.

Bob wonders.....can fumes squash you flat?

Bob and Mili try to live smell free

Bob and Mili live in a smelly basement apartment in a green corner of Portland, Oregon. Smelly because they can't get rid of the rich bouquet of the dog formally residing in their apartment, who apparently shed it's entire coat into the carpet.

Having tried several shampoos, baking soda and shouting at it, they have finally come to a place of accepting that the carpet, and consequently the apartment, smells.

Acceptance is clearly a good thing, because now Bob is not shouting so much at the carpet and is living happily with the window open, the air purifier on full and incense burning.

Mili is refusing to put anything down on the carpet, which is not an easy task. She is also wondering whether moving house might help get rid of the smell.

Bob and Mili have decided to share some of their fascinating wonders about life and the world with you.
